NIE permit Studies, Investigations and Authorize to Work

Yes, due to the changes made in the labor law in 2022, in Spain, a student who obtains a Spanish NIE for higher studies will be allowed to work for 30 hours.

The student may receive a stamp of a NIE number with "Studies Or / And Investigations, Authorization to Work" on the passport when the Embassy of Spain in the home country provides the student a favorable visa resolution.  So the student will have a visa, a NIE and a work permit on the passport.

EXCEPT if the student is coming to Spain to do a Language course in a language center or in a Spanish university, the student will receive a stamp of a NIE number with "Studies Or/And Investigations, Not Authorize to Work"

NIE Estudiante Permite a Trabajar 

The student can travel to Spain with visa, then can apply in police station in Spain for obtening a physical plastic card that shows NIE number with Studies Or/And Investigations, Authorize to Work.
